Leadership and Meditation: Learn to lead in the moment
The practice of meditation has been proven to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, strengthen the immune system, and improve our ability to take action. But many people believe they are too busy to meditate or have tried to do it and “failed.”
In this workshop, Martin Boroson distills the practice of meditation into a simple, powerful exercise that you can do right where you are—at your desk, in the car, on a train, before a meeting, or even during a meeting. It enables you to notice the moment, be in the moment and harness the power of the moment.
Martin’s book on this subject, One-Moment Meditation: Stillness for People on the Go, has been published in eight languages. His approach is also gaining popularity as a key tool in leadership development and coaching. In this workshop, he will focus specifically on how one-moment meditation can help leaders respond to change, increase creativity, promote calmness, develop presence, and liberate momentum.
"Boroson takes the mystery out of meditation." -- The Irish Independent
"It's hard to overestimate how useful this technique could be." -- Psychologies magazine
"This gem of a book is a marvelous launching pad for anyone who wants to rest in the now, the only time there is." -- Larry Dossey, M.D., author of Reinventing Medicine
Martin Boroson studied Western philosophy at Yale and earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management. Finding the analytic, quantitative, and linear approaches to management useful but limited, he then set out to explore other ways of knowing. He trained in transpersonal psychology with Dr. Stanislav Grof, worked as psychotherapist, began formal practice of Zen Buddhism, and facilitated intensive personal development workshops for over nine years. He founded The Temenos Project, an international arts production company, funded by the Arts Council of Ireland to boost innovation and excellence in artistic production and training. Martin now brings these diverse approaches together in his work as an organizational consultant, trainer, and speaker.
