Yale Alumni A2A Event: Leveraging the Power of Social Media

Yale Club of Oregon, AYA Career Life and Yale, Alumni to Alumni Free Web Event: Leveraging the Power of Social Media

What is the role of social media in your professional development?

How best to use Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter?

How is social media being used by your current or potential future employers?

Partnering with the Careers, Life, and Yale Committee of the AYA, the Yale Club of Oregon is producing a series of A2A career mentoring events to allow Yale alumni to help each other lead a better career and better life. Whether you are Bulldog-Of-the-Last-Decade (BOLD) just launching your career, a True-Blue facing mid-career crisis, or a Blue-Silver looking at a new horizon, you will have something to offer to and receive from another Yalie.

Please join us on October 20, 2018 to participate in an engaging and informative event. If you are not able to make it to the onsite event, we invite you to join us online via Zoom. Free online access: https://zoom.us/j/5037801111

Our speakers are: Christina Avellan, '10 and Ben Mones

Christina Avellan is a behavioral therapist, consultant, and researcher who has been able to leverage her skill set into several career pivots and transitions. She conducts career counseling and coaching to help those building their skills or looking for change, and currently serves as a researcher for Walmart's eCommerce team. She holds a BA from Yale ('10) and an MA from NYU ('14).

Ben Mones is the CEO and Co-Founder of Fama Technologies, an AI-based startup that helps companies limit brand and culture risk by screening publicly available online content. Ben has startups in his blood—he's held executive roles at software companies in digital media, logistics, and wearables.
