Do you need to tell compelling stories in your nonprofit work? Whether you're a grantwriter, program officer, board member, volunteer, or the executive director, you probably need to make the case for your organization, clients, and community. Find out why TED talks are so compelling, how Hollywood movies draw from millenia-old story principles, and why stories are the key to being memorable and creating connection. Learn practical and effective methods from an award-winning documentary filmmaker, Charles Vogl.

We will discuss:

  • 7 elements to help you tell a compelling story
  • How to tap into emotional resonance
  • How to expand and contract stories for various settings
The main section from 6:15-8:15pm will include a presentation, followed by coaching with the group of attendees. Participants who would like to work individually with Charles are invited to continue receiving coaching from 8:30-9:15pm

This event is provided free of charge by Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance and Bay Area Asian Americans for Resource Development. Please RSVP to reserve your spot by September 23.
