Master's Tea by the Bay: A Conversation with Al Jazeera Correspondent Melissa Chan '02 on China and the State of Global Media

Join us for an afternoon conversation with Melissa Chan (BK 2002), Al Jazeera's former China correspondent.  Chan was the channel's correspondent for five years there before her expulsion from the country in 2012.  During her posting, she covered everything from the economy, domestic politics, foreign policy, the environment, social justice, labor rights, to human rights.  She'll reflect on covering major moments in Chinese current affairs, while also addressing the specific challenges of being Asian-American and a woman -- working as a foreign correspondent.

The location of this Master's Tea by the Bay will depend on turnout, but will be in San Francisco.  You will be notified 5 days before the event on details.  There will be light food and drink.

Tickets: $10 (Open to YCSF Members and AAAYA NorCal only). Seating is very limited. Limit 2 tickets per member.
