From a pre-eminent American historian comes a revelatory portrait of a crescendo moment in American history. Pulitzer Prize-winner Ellis presents a gripping account of the most important summer in our nation's history, when a myriad of forces came together to create a new country. Ellis weaves the political and military experiences as two sides of a single story and shows how events on one front influenced outcomes on the other.
