Volunteer at the San Francisco Food Bank on World Food Day!

Join other Yalies to help those in need by getting food ready for distribution all across San Francisco!

Tuesday, October 16, 2012 is World Food Day (http://www.worldfooddayusa.org/)!  Do your part to increase awareness and alleviate hunger by joining your fellow Yalies to help at the San Francisco Food Bank.  We will help to get food ready to be distributed to soup kitchens, food pantries, after-school programs, and all of the other 600+ places that feed people in need for free throughout the city. Projects typically involve sorting donations from food drives and grocery stores, repackaging bulk items into more useful portions, cleaning and boxing fresh produce, or stocking grocery shelves. Your efforts will impact thousands throughout San Francisco.

Afterwards, join other volunteers for a casual no-host dinner at nearby Serpentine (www.serpentinesf.com)!  Please indicate in your RSVP if you think you would like to stay for dinner so we can make appropriate arrangements.

When: Tuesday, October 16, 6:00 – 8:00 pm (dinner to follow)

Where: 900 Pennsylvania Avenue, San Francisco, CA

Participants/capacity: 30
people maximum, families with children middle school age and older are welcome
