On Saturday, October 4, 2008, hundreds of people in the Bay Area will dedicate their day to volunteer with one of the many community organizations in the Bay Area. This event is called "Be the Change," which is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. This year's theme is "Solidarity in Service," which reflects the ways in which public service can build coalitions, deepen relationships, and bring about solidarity among people of different backgrounds.
Join hundreds of other students and professionals to volunteer at a service project in the Bay Area with a team of Yale alumni!
Projects include Habitat for Humanity, Glide Memorial Church, Project Open Hand, Children's Hospital, Golden Gate Park conservatory, and more. The day begins with a kickoff breakfast and guest speaker, and concludes with a celebratory dinner where you can meet other volunteers and share stories about your experience.
